Ottawa: Official Laughingstock

Does anyone see Ottawa turning themselves around anytime soon? Because I don't see it. You don't have your own 1st rounder this year, Duchene and Stone are both UFA's, they aren't exactly swimming with high end prospects, althought I think Tkachuk will be the real deal. They look like they are heading down "Sabres tank" type paths.

I see lawsuits coming against uber......... do you seriously think the senators players gave this asshat permission
I can see uber driver relieved of his duties

Never mind. ESPN story clarifies the date as being Oct. 29th this year and names the players in the video.

Ottawa was a laughingstock before this video came out.

When your owner comes out with a video and in the video the first thing out of his mouth, to a player on his team no less, is that the team is in the dumpster right now and then proceeds to double down by saying most of the players on the team won't be here in a couple years. What kind of attitude do you expect the players to have?

Melnyk is the worst owner in the NHL by a long shot and the best thing that can happen to Ottawa is for him to sell the team.

What are they doing in an Uber anyway ? I realize you don't get rich writing cheques.... but if they splurged for a better driver, this doesn't happen.

I'd assume - to some degree - a conversation like that is common amoung NHL players. Especially ones on losing teams.

The driver will likely be out of a job. The camera is there for his (or her) protection, not to show off videos of celebrities making fools of themselves (or their employers).

Yea the conversations are common, this is just a rare occurrence that the whole thing was taped. Definitely embarrassing for management to see it

Arizona is one-party consent. Recording is a responsible security practice. The action is simply against Uber policy. Where do you see lawsuits?

Yes they can tape but do they not need permission from the parties being taped to broadcast this for the world to see? Its not like they signed a disclaimer once they got into the uber.

The guy supposedly was pissed because he wasn't tipped well. What a d-bag.

Would he like it if somebody recognized him and posted his name all over the internet and was now subject to the courts of public opinion?

What a piece of garbage and so sad to see society heading down that path. Glad to see the real journalists didn't want to take the story but the paper was hell-bent on getting ratings like a tabloid.
