Nothing worse then a 40 year old man in Target searching packs looking for the gu or patches.

So....... I notified the Store manager explaining how he is doing it is destroying the product inside. He watched the man for a couple minutes and left.

I continued shopping and when I was checking out I used the checkout closest to the card isle and the manager opened a pack in front of the man and showed him that the bending is putting creases in the cards and damaging the corners.
He made the man an offer, buy every pack that he had searched which was like 100-150 that he had set on the ground or he was calling the police.
A Squad pulled up as I was leaving the parking lot. I guess he decided on B.
Whats funny two out of all those packs, he only had three or four "keeper".

I hope he ends up in my jail, now that would be justice.

FANTASTIC.
I know that the local Wal Mart has just started carring packs of cards and when I go to grab a pack, i the foil looks messed with on any pack, I skip over the whole box. They now keep cards next to a cashiers counter and in front of customer service.
Good for that manager!

I heard of it happened at a Wal Mart store from talking with a dealer from a card show I went to when I lived up North. I read of one out of Tuff Stuff awhile back that it occured at some retail store in Minnesota. At least you happen to be there at the right time to get a manager to fix the problem. No one likes bent cards coming fresh from a pack that we pay our hard earned money for.

I've seen a guy at two San Diego area Targets searching packs. I told people at both stores what the guy was up to; I haven't seen him at either store since :) But there's several other Targets, not to mention the Wal-Mart and KMart/Sears Essentials stores around; it'd probably be a full-time job tracking this f**ker

i dont get y one can get arrested for "searching" packs without actually openeing them. They cannot prove that he was the one who damaged the cards. Im not defending him in any way, but i just think people who actually open the packs to get cards, and then put them back are much much worse.
what do u think.. i would not want to pay for 150 packs in that scenario either. Does anybody agree with me?

Uhh. Not every box in Target is guaranteed I believe, so it will take a while to search the packs. Plus its all junk at my Target, or I just cant pull nothing. I tend to stay with the "Blaster Boxes" if anything.

He did get arrested because he threw a fit in the store, got arrested for DC and has a no contact with any store that carries sports cards while he fights this. LOL Target stated their damages as 487. some odd dollars, which is now a whole different case.

I dont know if anyone else has any stories but I actually seen a man bring a small scale, dont know if it was his or got it from the store but weighed the packs. Shopko used to have signs many years ago before the decoys against such practices

About twenty years to a different degree there was a guy up in northern michigan that I to this day refer to as the wax pack man use to open the packs pull all the tigers and stars out...reseal the packs using a iron to melt the plastic to reseal the cards. on vending cases from topps he would take the 500 count box pull out everything he wanted. You would open the 500 count box and if any of you have ever broke down a Topps case like this you know how uniform the cards are however when opening his 500 count box the cards were a mess in there...yes in mint condition but was so obivous to anyone who deals with cards that something is wrong. It is sad but for myself I no longer buy packs just cause of stories like the above mentioned. I can only buy sealed boxes and even at that you still have to be careful. Have any of you ever been at a card show and actually seen a dealer open a shrink wrap box in front of you? If you have deal with him if not don't buy their product. just my two cents....Glad dherm360 that that guy was arrested...shame shame on him

My target has no sign of life outside of a few people. There are never regulars, no signs, not even a hint there would be pack searchers, all the packs are like a freshly opened box, nobody buys them, lol.
