Hello,
I'm in Canada and I have a Canadian and a U.S. bank account. Does anyone know if I can transfer U.S. paypal funds directly into my U.S. bank account?
Thanks
Casey

Sort of: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/sell/mc/mc_intro-outside

The best I can gather is that if you're going to work in US funds, you might want a separate Paypal account attached to the US bank account. It speaks of "preferred currency", but I imagine the granularity of that is at the Paypal account level.

Good luck with that.

As long as you have them both accounts added to your PayPal account, I believe you can do this. When you go to withdraw it, PP should ask which account will be the destination.

You can't. I have tried to get them to do that for years. If you're in Canada, you can only deposit your funds into your Canadian bank account and they HAMMER you with the exchange rate. Another way for Ebay and Paypal to make money off sellers

BIG TIME! Gets me worked up every single time i withdraw into my bank account..

I tried the same thing with Paypal, and went back and forth for several emails with "support". Bottom line: if you're from Canada, you have to withdraw in Canadian funds, regardless if you have a US bank account. Reason? As stated above... so they can screw us for another 2.5% to 3.0% for being "foreigners".

If you are a Canadian resident, the only way you can transfer US funds to a US bank account is if that account is on US soil. Paypal will not transfer US funds to a US account in Canada for the aforementioned reason of taking an additional 2.5%-3%.

Correct... it is possible to get a US Bank account in the Us though... I have one with TD Banknorth and I can then transfer money from my TD Banknorth account to my TD Canada Trust US Bank Account that is here in Canada. It is very handy to have and I sugest to everyone that transfers a lot of money to consider getting one!! You can sign up for it online... I've even got a Visa Debit Card as well so I can buy Red Wings tickets, etc. with the US Account so I don't get dinged that way as well...
