Let's say that you have a card that someone wants. You look at their tradelist, and find a card you want. The BVs don't match up, so you're hashing out the rest of the deal.

Suddenly, the other guy PMs you to tell you he has dealt the card you want to someone else.

Is it just me, or is it common courtesy to tell other people who inquire about a card that you are actively negotiating that the card in question is pending?

Am I angry for no reason, or did the other guy do something that you just plain don't do?

I always tell people if a card is involved in another deal. I'd agree that it's just common courtesy (though apparently not that common) to do so.

People are sometimes working on so many deals at the same time that they don't remember what is pending and what is not.

No question. What I've had happen is someone asks me about a card and I can't find the bloody thing...finding out later I traded it weeks ago and forgot to take it off my trade list. I'm a bit more aware of such things now to avoid said mistake heh.

It maybe a common courtesy but as mentioned sometimes people forget. You should know this Bobgat as you very seldom return PM's or answer threads that you've posted..

Dan.
