The Pens and Letang agree on a 6 year $36.6 million deal.

I am fine with the money, not sure on the term. 6 years is a long deal.

Signing him until he is 41, at that price is risky at best. It helps for the next 2 years or 3 and then starts handcuffing you in the last 3.

Good value for years 1-2 and probably 3. Years 4-6..... time will tell.

This theoretically gives them enough to take a run at resigning Malkin.

I was surprised on the length of contract. Number is good but duration I'm not sold on but what that being said he's got great conditioning so we shall see. If he could just weed out some of the brain farts from his game....
