Player Collection Question

Greetings Everyone

I am a fairly new member and have made a few trades already. My question was for people who collect players only.I collect Roenick and it seems everyone who has a Roenick card for trade seems to think there worth more than gold. Does anyone else have this problem when people know you only collect certain players? Its getting frustrating answering pms with i have a 30 or 40 dollar Roenick card ill take an Ovechkin auto or a card numbered out of 10 for it.im beging to think letting on i collect Roenick was a mistake. Thanks to anyone who has any answers.

I don't know of anyone who thinks Roenick is worth anything more than his usual going rate. But if anyone is honestly asking for high-end stuff of the hot rookies, they are simply embarassing themselves to you and the rest of the collecting community.

yeah i just was wondering if others feel they get people trying to take advantage of the fact they know you collect the certain player. i guess maybe its just people trying to get the most out of the deal

Theirs always going to be people that try and take advantage of you because they know you collect a certain player, team or need a certain card to finish a set.

Honestly though, I don't know of anyone that over values Roenick. You may have just been unlucky. I find, for the most part, the majority of the people on this site very easy and pleasing to deal with. Infact, most people give player collectors the right to first refusal. G'luck!

Yeah, I was gonna hold out for the Bergeron Premier RC, 4 colors if I could, for my $40 jersey card . Instead I decided to settle for the YG RC. Man, I shorted myself

It's rarely a mistake to let people know who you collect. By and large, you will get much more help with people knowing you collect a certain guy than the hassle you will get from a small portion of the collectors who will try to take advantage of you.

Unfortunately I know of at least one member here whom is quite comfortable bending you over if he knows you collect a certain player.
Said person demanded $75US for an Andrew Ladd SPx auto/jersey /1999 (The Cam Ward /1499 goes for about $60)

Greed is ugly. Just try not to put everyone in the same category as the greed-jabronies
