Playstation Portable Help needed to view movies.

Hi,

I'm having a bit of trouble viewing movies on our psp. Our psp is modified (Am I allowed to say that here?). I've been converting movies (.avi) so that they can play on the psp (mp4 format?). The software to convert is from downloads.com. Nothing fancy.

The problem is, when I view the movie on the psp unit, the audio doesn't match up with the video. So, there are voices when no one on the screen is supposed to be talking. :|

The movies, prior to the conversion, worked super duper. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is there a conversion program/software that is recommended over others?

I use PSP video 9. It works great.

Some movies don't convert well though. I've toyed around with my settings, but for some reason the audio in "Ratatouille"(and a couple other movies that i can't remember) was always off.
