this is a poll to see what the HI community thinks was the worst decision in Detroit sports over the last few years... if we made this poll over the last 25 yrs we wouldnt have enough options slots in the poll

id have to say the Wings bringing in Hossa.. he had "game" during the regular season and has done little in the playoffs when it really counts..

what do you think and why

The wings Drafting Primeau instead of Jagr

but i think they have learned from their mistake lol

Hossa , really? Hmmm , as a Lions fan ( insert laughter here) it's Millen. Close second , acquiring Dontrelle Willis.......

The deal with Hossa is the lack of production in the playoffs...others have said "well...he is shutting down the Crosby/Malkin line ect" but that cant be used for the rest of the playoffs...

Unless I'm mistaken, that trade was not centered around Dontrelle Willis. I think another guy came over in that trade. What's his name again. Umm. Oh yeah... MIGUEL CABRERA.

It's Millen in a landslide.

One guy leveled an already struggling franchise. The other is a struggling performer who was the "throw-in" in a trade for another superstar.

Millen was the atom bomb to Detroit's Hiroshima.

I am surprised that there are only 74% on Millen - seriously, the worst GM in the history of sports arguement comes into play. Has there ever been anyone that has ever set a team so far behind - "We have a shot at another WR - DRAFT HIM!"

Hossa on a one year deal is so not the worst thing for Detroit....if the man signed a 5 year 60 million dollar contract.......maybe, but still not even in the same "hood" as the Millen era.

Fred,

How can it be anything BUT Millen?????

I know you are down on Hossa - but we would not have home ice advantage were it not for him throughout the year. He is not scoring - but he is easily one of the four best defensive forwards on the ice game in and game out in the finals.

As far as Willis - if you had put something about the subsequent contract they signed hime too - maybe a little vote. But the real key was one of the tp 3-5 hitters in all of basebal - Cabrera. And he is worth it - especially since Maybin can't hit a big league curveball to save his life.

And Iverson - honestly can't stand him, but the Pistons were not going anywhere this year at all. And the Cap Space that Dumars is creating is incredible. It was time to blow up the team and start anew.
