Possible Fake Flames patch on the bay

As far as I am aware UD have never used a flames jersey for any of Tanguays cards as hey have been busy using up his Avs jerseys in the past. I may be wrong but im pretty this would be a fake.

It's legit. UD used a Flames jersey for several Tanguay Patch cards, including that one. All of the Tanguay Limited Logos for that year were Flames patches. If you're looking for other examples, I have several different Tanguay Flames patches in my bucket.

Thanks for correcting me on that. I did think that they used avs patches on his cards that year. I will never understand UD and the way they use up their patches. If they did have a Tanguay jersey why didnt they use it here

I'm not sure the reasoning. All of his other Cup cards that year were Avs Patches, except the Limited Logos. Then last year, more Flames patches showed up, most notably in SPx (off the top of my head). But then in 07-08 The Cup, they reverted back to Avs patches. And this year, his UD Series 1 patch is from a Flames jersey again. I've just learned to go with the flow......I figure it will be at least two years before I see a Habs patch...LOL

Must be frustrating for a pc guy like yourself. I know as a flames collector the OPC 1/1 KILLS me to see such nice patches then 1 Avs patch. I just saw the UD patch from this year was Flames and wondered why that swatch couldent have made this card a truly amazing flames 1/1?

Its legit. Ive seen quite a few of those patches for Tanguay from this Cup set. As far as Phaneuf goes, with the same patch, Ive tracked 14 different patch cards sell online since release with patch pieces from the horse head patch. I admit, it makes you wonder exactly how many jersey's they cut up considering there were only 2 horsehead patches per Flames jersey.....and remember this particular Cup set was considered "NHL game used" for Phaneuf........
