I'm assuming with the Sedins entering the final year of their contract next year that retirement is likely to follow... I'm curious if anyone knows offhand, is UD allowed to produce cards of them for the full year following? I would imagine that products in the works like OPC and MVP when a player files their retirement papers would be allowed to proceed, but would that extend all the way to The Cup at the very end of the following season or some cutoff in between?

I believe as long as they have an NHL contract and are still with the NHLPA they can do that. Most of the retired players that are still being made have personal contracts with UD that allow this. For example, Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr etc.

Do you really think they are ready to retire? Or more likely head back across to Sweden and play some there? I know they are approaching 20 years, and now that Lord Stanley feels so far away in Vancouver, I can understand if they did.
