Havent bought much, been screwed over a couple times to be honest...but made up for it the last time I did (which was 3 years ago)...
I bought 2 boxes of 03/04 SPGU for onyl $70.00 each!!! which was awesome...
I ended up pulling:
Quad Patch Nucks 3/5 (beauty card, got $400)
Quad Jersey Flyers /45
a Rookie /40
Dual Auto Jersey - Giggy / ROY 21/21 4 cl
Plus a couple Dual Jersey /100...
I killed the odds it wasnt even funny, wish I could seen the other case, the stuff I got was loaded!
You sure it wasn't this card I bought off you:
Oh I wouldn't even touch any of those presale cases on ebay.
The only reason why I can't think those guys are crazy enough to presale below cost is a semi-scam/Cover Your *** technique.
i.e.
Seller A isn't sure how hot Product X is going to get so he puts a rediculous price on presale.
You pre-order Product X from Seller A.
If Product X goes cold, he's more than willing to take a hit to move product for future allocation reasons
If Product X goes hot, Seller A suddenly says: oops we're presold too much than we had, sorry here's your money back.
In other words, it's lose/lose for the buyer. I've seen the feedback for a bunch of these ppl and it's full of people complaining about never receiving their cases.
It's all about the allocation game where upper deck allocates super hot product (i.e. exquisite, the cup) based on total year's purchases from each individual dealer. Seller A figures the instant loss now won't overshadow the instant gains from the super hot products. Upper Deck got tired of this product dumping and their trying to clean up with the new distribution rules that go into effect in April. We'll see if it really changes anything....
