we all know that some boxes are better than others, but do you think the companies know whats in each boxes and they send, lets say "premium boxes" to prefered customers. for example would they send better stuff to cloutsnchara knowing many collectors view these breaks, thus enticing that viewer to go buy a box for himself. i have watched a lot of box breaks from c&c and i just wish my boxes were as juicy as theirs.:confused::foottap:

I kind of doubt it. For the number of good breaks that they have, CnC have some really brutal ones as well (on occasion). I think it's just random luck of the draw.

Hmm...I quite agree that CnC often gets amazing boxes, a bit too often since I started to watch their breaks at youtube for 4 years ago...their dud boxes are really not that much if compared with the numbers of great boxes they gets...

I think that it may be pure luck but you never knows because I have heard that beckett actually got some insane boxes for their pre-breaks from a certain card manufactuer (basketball I think) which was filled of 1/1'sd and ultra rares for some years if I recalls right, I think that was a thread about it at an another board during that time...?

Would it really be that hard for certain, specific, important employees to grab a few case hit boxes off the pile to send out to special customers like Beckett for preview, if they wanted to? Do they actually do that, ask them? I wouldn't be at all surprised if they did, or if certain specific cases got shipped to special customers.

The Hobby Box gets some pretty sweet hits in their cases, too. Who knows? I've always looked at it as these dealers that do a lot of breaks open a ton of stuff, so naturally it wouldn't be odd that they hit upon some sweet cards for their customers. Then you read stories about two card companies who bought fake game used jerseys well below normal prices, from a guy who admitted it, you have to wonder if they knew, or didn't care, and didn't want to know? If your job is to buy game used jerseys, shouldn't you know what you are buying by looking at it? Shouldn't you do the proper due diligence to make sure they are the real deal? I guess if the company's bottom line is all that matters, then probably not.

Then you see how Beckett grades cards a gem mint 10, that have s specific flaws that even the blind could see, you have to wonder about any of their credibility. How many of the hundreds of game used cards in my collection were actually game used? Some, a few, most? I don't even buy cards with patches on them.

Press Pass packed out Brad Keselowski autographs that were Devante Smith-Pelly'd. When they came back to the office, probably by the guy who washes the #2 Blue Deuce for a living, wouldn't you think they'd look them over somewhere, or at some point to notice that every single autograph was exactly the same? Can anyone even sign twice the same, so how could anyone do it hundreds of times? What ever happened to the card companies sending reps out to witness the sigings?

People continue to buy these products, from these crooks, knowing full well there's hardly any chance of you recouping your money back on resale, and yet they still line up on release day. Not this old man. ;)

Just my opinion but why do you think UD asks for the Hologram Sticker number when opening a case for missed hits, damages, etc. They can track what is put into each box with that number. Same would go for Panini I would think.

i dont think the companies send some loaded case espicailly for certain customers, i have watched a lots of breaks online from various breakers and they all get great hits . Sure for the quantity that guys like c&c, breakaway, d&a buy, its normal they get a lot of great hits, but they get a lot of duds too

On hand packed items, they may be able to track it... on something like UD Series 1? Not a chance. The resources and cost to know what was in every box would be mind boggling.

I think the reason they ask for the case number is so they can track to see if there was a manufacturing trend error (for example, 20 cases in the same lot shorted an autograph - what happened during the process and how can we fix it) or just a one off.

As far as there being premium boxes or cases sent out for review or to preferred shops. nothing would kill the hobby faster in my opinion, and I do not believe it is done - the internet would have that issue smoked out and vilified in no time.

I do seem to recall there was an issue I believe with an Exquisite basketball pack sent to Beckett for a review that didn't make sense when it first came out, but that was ages ago and I can't remember any of the details.

one way to find out.... case wars - Ill bust 5 cases v.s CnC busting 5 case of the same product !!!! lol

I wouldnt doubt it one bit, we have seen stranger things happen with the hobby.

I live in Kitchener where the CnC store is. I have been in the store before when they get a delivery of their cases. They use one of the major distributors (I think they are based in BC if memory serves me correct). All that I know is that they had their delivery come from a distributor as opposed to from a card company directly.

One other thing that everyone should remember. Of course they get a lot of great hits...they break the most products by far in the online hockey card business. The more you break...the higher the chances you have of pulling a big card.

And before someone starts to blast me saying that I am a massive CnC group break buyer. I am not at all. I am not a fan of group breaks at all. I would much rather buy a whole box myself to get all of the hits. They are my LCS and they do run a great store.

Nailed it. Universal is our sole distributor in Canada. We don't ship directly to the shops as that would increase cost and shipping times tremendously. The cases that go to CnC, Wests, or Breakaway, or any other shop in Canada that buys from Universal are all from the same lot.

Do CnC get amazing hits? Yup... But you gotta consider the sheer amount of product being opened by CnC every day. You just need to take a look at the Group Breaks page to realize that they bust several cases every single night of the week. This hobby is a gamble, and the more you open, the more your odds of landing something huge improves. Open a single pack, a full box, or a case, and you most likely will land something better with the case than with the single pack. Now open 1 case, versus 25 cases, and you'll probably get some monsters out of 25 cases.

Universal has no way of knowing what is in the boxes/cases. This is just simple mathematics.

Nothing better than a completely unfounded conspiracy theory.
And Oswald acted alone........the Warren Commission told us that and that is the truth!!

CnC does open a boatload of product, so the odds of good hits are higher.
