Would it really be that hard for certain, specific, important employees to grab a few case hit boxes off the pile to send out to special customers like Beckett for preview, if they wanted to? Do they actually do that, ask them? I wouldn't be at all surprised if they did, or if certain specific cases got shipped to special customers.
The Hobby Box gets some pretty sweet hits in their cases, too. Who knows? I've always looked at it as these dealers that do a lot of breaks open a ton of stuff, so naturally it wouldn't be odd that they hit upon some sweet cards for their customers. Then you read stories about two card companies who bought fake game used jerseys well below normal prices, from a guy who admitted it, you have to wonder if they knew, or didn't care, and didn't want to know? If your job is to buy game used jerseys, shouldn't you know what you are buying by looking at it? Shouldn't you do the proper due diligence to make sure they are the real deal? I guess if the company's bottom line is all that matters, then probably not.
Then you see how Beckett grades cards a gem mint 10, that have s specific flaws that even the blind could see, you have to wonder about any of their credibility. How many of the hundreds of game used cards in my collection were actually game used? Some, a few, most? I don't even buy cards with patches on them.
Press Pass packed out Brad Keselowski autographs that were Devante Smith-Pelly'd. When they came back to the office, probably by the guy who washes the #2 Blue Deuce for a living, wouldn't you think they'd look them over somewhere, or at some point to notice that every single autograph was exactly the same? Can anyone even sign twice the same, so how could anyone do it hundreds of times? What ever happened to the card companies sending reps out to witness the sigings?
People continue to buy these products, from these crooks, knowing full well there's hardly any chance of you recouping your money back on resale, and yet they still line up on release day. Not this old man.
