Private Feedback on ebay

Why does ebay allow users to keep their feedback private? This is absolutely worthless IMO....how on earth are you supposed to know what their tendencies are and if the negatives they have were an honest mistake or misunderstanding, or if the person is out to rip you off. Stupid feature if you ask me

It's just another way for ebay to make more money. Like they need it. I always suspect that the people who use the feature are buying a lot of "Adult" Items, and they are ashamed.
