This weekend I pulled the following card from a box of 11/12 Limited:

#CS1 Charlie Simmer - Bruins

According to a checklist posted by Al at Panini on another forum, I see that it is listed as an XSP, and his explanation of the SP, SSP, and XSP print runs are as follows:

"Naturally, the print runs vary, with SPs being about 1/4 the run of the common auto, SSP's about half of that, and XSPs being half (or less) of SSPs. There is also a 1/1 Platinum version of every card."

Does anyone out there actually know, or have an accurate estimation of the print run on these? Just trying to get an idea on how limited these may actually be. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

wait so that means the XSP is 1/16th of a common? either way, based on ebay, it doesn't seem that rare, meaning the commons must be very plentiful.

From what I've noticed, people are slowly putting this set together, many starting relatively recently. Given the size of it right now, it's possible that those putting it together aren't aware of the fact that some XSP's are out there. As it becomes more commonly known, perhaps the fights for those XPS's will increase. Just a thought.

Or as was said earlier, the commons are falling more commonly. Going off of memory, they didn't seem THAT plentiful, but a Private Signings collector would be able to chime in I'm sure.

I frequently do searches for Simon Gagne on Ebay, and I can tell you that as a "common" in the PS set, there are at least 3-4 new listings for Gagne PS each week.

I've owned 3 of the Patrick Roy (COL) XSP. And from what I've seen purely on eBay, the 1/16th rule looks about right as far as print run goes relative to other Private Signings that aren't SP or SSP.

Thanks for the input everyone. It gives me a little bit better idea, and confirms that what Al was saying is a pretty good estimation.

The product is came from also has an impact on perceived rarity. Some of the XSP's from Dominion are much more available than the XSP's from Pinnacle. I've seem many Rangers Brad Park than Henri Richards or Geno Malkins even though they are all XSP's.

I have some information from my local LCS about the ratios - there are around 200 copies of the common Private Signings, so according to Panini's ratios:

Commons - 200 copies
SP - 50 copies
SSP - 25 copies
XSP - 15 or less???

Is Panini inserting the same cards in different sets? I notice some players like Cory Perry were in last year's Dominion as well as this year's Crown Royale... or is it just confusion on the eBay listers
