pure insanity ..... wow

That does seem pretty crazy. However there may be low population and it is 30 years old now. So many of the 90-91 cards weren't treated well with the mass overall production.

There are so many strong sell signals right now -

Just the shear number of "Looking for" or "Buying" of Young Guns / FWAs and people trying to arbitrage getting raw cards graded to turn them for big money makes it seem like things are very, very frothy.

I have done no scientific work/assessment here but I would say there are 2-3 buying posts for every selling post on the large Facebook trading groups right now. That feels like it will only accelerate this trend given pretty basic economic demand/supply curve analysis.

Also, there have been a number of reports of pre-orders of Series 2 selling out. I've not heard of that happening before for a main-line product, particularly something like Series 2 which seems to be available long after release at or below original issuance pricing.

Hold on tight!

Another PSA 10 of that card sold for only $30 cheaper 4 days before. Maybe someone with enough cash is picking up every PSA 10 Richter UD RC that comes up. If I had one of the other 82 I would list right now.

For reference I just purchased a Richter Upper Deck BGS 9.5 for $26 off ebay.... when it costs $30 to grade a card I figured why not.

And for further reference anything 'PSA 10' is flying off the shelves for record prices day after day.

Kinda sorta on the same topic.
A MacKinnon base Prizm Rookie is currently on eBay @182.50 CDN$ With over 6 days to go.

Wut

I bought two David Beckham PSA 9 rookies a year ago, $25 for the pair.

The last few have sold for ~$400 USD each. And I'm sure there are a million similar stories.

Go to ebay's advanced search and see what's sold recently for "PSA". It is insane... page after page of sold cards at record highs.

91 Score Lindros (not even his RC) PSA 9 - $95cdn
Matthews YG PSA 9 - $475cdn
Hasek UD RC PSA 10 - $230cdn
Patrick Marleau UD RC PSA 9 - 3 sold for $76cdn each
Mario Lemieux Topps RC PSA 7 - $510cdn
Lafreniere YG PSA 9 - $813cdn
Mackinnon YG PSA 10 - $1700cdn!!!
Pettersson YG PSA 10 - $466cdn
Mario Lemieux OPC PSA 8 - $3310cdn (plus $50 shipping lol)
Brodeur Score American PSA 10 - $203cdn
Bure UD RC PSA 10 - $191cdn
Mackinnon YG PSA 8 - $365cdn
Mackinnon YG PSA 10 - $1433cdn

And thats only taken from the last 100 items sold on ebay today.

Edit: throw in a Mcdavid YG PSA 10 for a cool $3k cdn and a Crosby YG PSA 10 for $4140cdn and an Ovechkin YG PSA 10 for $5160cdn. And no those aren't typos.

Possibly. But I'd argue that there are tens of thousands of gem mint copies and they haven't been submitted because until now, there has been no return on investment. If Richter PSA 10s suddenly routinely sell for $100+, you'll see the pop move up quickly.

Those are crazy prices. I have a PSA OPC 8 Lemieux and a Topps PSA 9 Lemieux that I may consider moving if I could get prices close to that.

I have been tracking the Lemieux prices for a couple of months and it is crazy. I bought a PSA 9 Topps in September for $350, last price I saw sold was $1700. So glad I have many copies of his RC's. BTW the BGS 9.5 is getting very tempting to move it, guessing it could go for over $3,000 maybe more...

This. It just wasn't in-demand like it is right now. Same with a lot of these other 90's junk era rookie cards. Expect the POP Reports to get a little higher on these ones... We'll see how long the premium price points can hold on these types of junk era PSA 10 hockey rookies. That will be a big test of demand in this "new" hockey card market we're living in right now.

That Mackinnon price is nuts. Picked up a PSA 10 last year for $135. Traded it in a package for my 9 player cup booklet auto. At the time I valued it at $250 sell price. I've certainly lost out on this one, but who could have predicted this?

Nobody could have predicted this.

In fact, once the pandemic hit hard last March, the only predictions I saw were that people would be dumping their collections and selling a lot of things. Literally the complete opposite of what we're seeing today. Demand for cards is rising.

I double checked my cards. I have a Mario Lemieux Rc Topps 9 & a OPC 7. Both PSA. Any thoughts, as to what I should list them for. I am going to try and push the limits a little, since I don't need to move them at all. For me it only makes sense if I can get a really good price on them.

I thought the same thing and, to be honest, I was able to get many cards at a great price. Not anymore. I'm not in the RC market, but I've seen HOF autographs rising a lot too.

Looks like the 7 is selling for $1400-1500 right now; the 9 is $1500-$1800. If you want to push the line, ask for 2 grand for each.
