Hello All,

I was digging through a box of old Bruins cards today for a project I'm working on. I came across this Bourque Pro Set card and was wondering if it is considered a "Borqu" error or just a "Borque" error. You can faintly see part of the last 'E' so I just wanted to be sure before tossing it back in the box.

Thanks!

Junk wax gems has a great list of Pro Set errors

(SP) Extremely scarce, very low print run.
(R) Rare, very early or very late print.
(U) Uncommon, tougher version to locate.
(RPD) Recurring print defect, usually quite scarce.

1b Ray Bourque (spelled ‘Borque’)
1c Ray Bourque (spelled ‘Bourque’)
1d Ray Bourque (spelled ‘Borqu’ due to excess black ink in name wedge)(RPD)

I think it's so cool to actually have some value to these proset cards. haha. You have to sort them for a couple thousand hours to find anything and crink your neck while you do it, but it's still probably better than knitting :)

I personally would consider it the same as 1b. Recurring printing/ink errors don't add value in my mind. Sure someone might pay 10% more for it, but that's on them.

We have to start saying more than 2 cents. How about 3 cents, cause that gets rounded up to a nickel. 2 cents isn't worth anything :)
j/k
Maybe send an email to the junkwaxgems guy through his site?

Problem with the Pro Set Errors is that there is a huge potential drop off on the next one sold. There aren't that many guys looking for them, so while the first one, two or three gets good action, the demand can dry up after that and it may only be worth that rounded down 2 cents.

Further proof of the old adage - things are only worth what someone is willing to pay to buy them.

What we really need here is a discussion wondering, with all of these errors and variations: did Dr. Price cross the line? :dizzy:

I had so many doubles of these cards. I gave all the extras I had away. Kept the sets I managed to pull together tho. I keep meaning to go through them and check, but I am too lazy for that.

Its nice to see a little market for these errors, puts some more fun back into collecting.

I consider it to be a printing error and not part of the master set checklist. I've got a couple of them that came out of boxes. As stated earlier, if you happen to put it up on eBay when someone who wants it needs it, you may get a little something for it. Doubtful it would draw more than $20, likely will draw no interest at all.
