I've been looking to pickup an auto for Mario Lemieux, but they all look kinda... sloppy.

For example:

It wasn't until I found cards like this one:

And a couple of IPA autos that I figured out that the "CC" at the end of his name was actually supposed to be a "66".

Does anyone know if Lemieux has any autos out there with a nice clean '66' on it?

For example, the next two posters agree that this is not legit.

But, if I wanted to find a legit one with a legible '66' on it does one exist, or would the 1992-93 Classic #AU1 Mario Lemieux be the best example I'll ever find?

Any year or set suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers,

I would say 100% not a Lemieux auto.

Pacman

No auto expert....but Ive seen and sold enough Lemieux autos over the years.....especially for the date the card was printed (since the auto couldn't have come earlier....)........ Horrible fake......

If you aren't looking to get his auto on a card, maybe some older auto'd mem could yield a "66" that you'll be looking for.
Sort of like getting a Luongo before he became famous...when he was playing for the Isle...His BeeHive auto's aren't a scribble like they are today. or an early Hossa auto where it says Hossa instead of chicken scratch (which I think is cool, wait til ITG has his cut signature from a check, you'll see every letter...signatures...autographs...completely different items.)
