I pulled a Redemption from 14-15 The Cup and this was the best card inside the tin:

Redemption Code: RMMQBYMWP
for:
JONATHAN DROUIN 2014-15 NHL THE CUP AUTO ROOKIE PLATES - ULTIMATE COLLECTION CD#ULT-125 #'D TO 4

Upper Deck sent me 2014-15 The Cup Jonathan Drouin Auto Printing Plate (Yellow) Ultimate Collection ULT-125 #1/1

Should I not receive the "Rookie Plates" to 4 (Black, Yellow, Cyan & Magenta) #'d to 4 ???

If I'm suppose to receive a Yellow Printing Plate, should the redemption not say "Yellow Printing Plate #'D to 1" or 1/1 ???

Do they randomly pick a color (Black, Yellow, Cyan, Magenta) and mailed me a Yellow plate? I emailed UD Customer Rep and got no help with the rep.

I'm confused... what do you guys think the redemption is for?

I think they worded the redemption incorrectly. They should have stated which colour plate you pulled, but since they didn't, you can assume it was now random. Plates have ALWAYS been numbered 1/1 and there has always been four 1/1s, so really, UD confused themselves with the wording which would confuse anyone pulling the card.

Answering your question directly, the redemption is for what you got.

Thanks Ryan for your feedback. The wording is confusing on the UD redemption card, Rookie Plates #'d to 4

I was so pumped pulling the redemption but now I think I'm back down to earth... lol

If you look back at the product info, they actually note them as being /4... could be they don't want to take the time to list each color separately, or extend the checklist for all the different color plates. As Ryan says, it's not well worded. Could have easily said "You will receive one of four unique printing plates, randomly chosen from black, yellow, cyan and magenta."

Here's the original product checklist if you're interested:

The wording is correct. The name of the set is Rookie Plates, a proper noun, meaning it's a set of printing plates that you're receiving a Drouin card from. If the word was lower case "plates" then that's a plural normal noun and you should expect a plural number of plate cards. Normally though, less than 1 in maybe 100,000 redemption cards is for more than one card. I can count on one hand the number of times that had happened in the hobby (like 91-92 Parkhurst Cherry Picks set redemption winner card).

For example if you got a redemption of Rookie Signatures /200 of Corey Perry, you don't get all 200 autographed cards of Corey Perry.
