So just bought a box of 15-16 and 16-17 opc platinum. 15 -16 box was fine.

Bought 16-17 box to try for a leafs rc auto of some sort. My auto hit for the box....... a 15-16 subban auto. I know some people will state I could have done worse, but buying a new product should guarantee new cards. The old release should be a bonus.

Anyway.....

That seems like a completely valid complaint to me. I completely agree that it should not have been the guaranteed box auto.

That's the way Upper Deck rolls these days. There are quite a few different products out there that they have done the same in. It's been a common complaint, and I have to agree, a card from a previous year should not be the "hit" in the box.

Yup, happens all the time.

Previous years cards should not be counted in the stated hits, they should be a bonus.

You're well within your rights to be frustrated. Panini used to pull the same BS.

I agree, your hit should be from this year not a previous year's product. Like many others, it has happened to me more than I care to remember.

Bummer for sure.

We face dire challenge and chance.
Our Hobby, our personal collection, hangs in the balance;
a fragile tower of cards, perched on the ledge of our desk, as we pray for not one hit from a previous year in a current product.
And yet, I smile.
We will break wax, and we will waste money and yet I smile.
We shall bust product from different manufacturers, some cornered into their roles by circumstance, some desperate monopolists thrilled by profit.
We shall collect from them all.
As is our charge this day.
As is our sorrow.
And yet, I smile.

And yet, I smile.... awesome!
