Recently got an e-mail from Bruce (suitman19) asking me if I would be interested in one of the 2 Gordie Howe autographed cards that he had bought recently from Dr Brian Price. Bruce probably read somewhere that I was late in purchasing a pair of the cards and hence the e-mail, my guess. As an RANDOM ACT of KINDNESS (RAK), Bruce would mail me a card of his choice, GRATIS!
Bruce and I go back a long ways to the newsgroup days of rec.collecting.sport.hockey, long before Hobby Insider existed or ebay as a matter of fact. Not much dealing done these days but we do keep in touch.
Gesture is very much appreciated and THANK YOU for the birthday gift.

First of all HUGE props to Bruce, that’s a tremendous thing he did, good on him.

But the above blew me away. I think I know of about 5-6 people I still hear mention those boards, incredible! That’s actually where I first met Steve Angel. Thanks for the memories and great story!

Down memory lane for sure AND Bruce was a big part of it with #19 Yzerman collection. It would nice to see some of it!
As for the newsgroup posting that is how I got to deal / trade with some of my still current HI buddies (scooby1970, No, no THAT other Steve, Kendall and Quincy).
With Steve Angel, we had never met until I walked up to his booth one day …… AND I am trekrun!
