Let's pretend every single prospect player who might play this year does (but ignore if it's less than 20% likely they can play in the NHL, like if the player is stuck in the KHL).

And let's say they all have Young Guns cards, because all YGs are printed equally, with both series printed in equal quantity.

Rank the class in terms of value. Do a top 5, 10, 50, whatever you feel like.

Mine:

1) MacKinnon
2) Yakupov
3) Galchenyuk
4) Barkov
5) Drouin
6) Monahan
7) Tarasenko
8) Grigorenko
9) Toffoli
10) Strome
11) Granlund

That's my feel.

1.) Mackinnon
2.) Yakupov
3.) Drouin
4.) Huberdeau
5.) Galchenyuk
6.) Barkov
7.) Gallagher
8.) Tarasenko
9.) Jones
10.) Schultz

In terms of sellvalue ( not the actual potential of the player ) I would say something like:

1. MacKinnon
2. Yakupov
3. Galchenyuk
4. Huberdeau
5. Gallagher
6. Drouin
7. Barkov
8. Granlund
9. Tarasenko
10. Jones
11. Monahan
12. Shinkaruk
13. Schultz
14. Grigorenko
15. Brodin
16. Fasth
17. Komarov
18. Bjugstad
19. Toffoli
20. Vatanen

If Armia makes his debute don´t be surprised if he breaks to top-5 as he comes from Finland and from team that has craziest fans/collectors. We have seen unreal prices for lesser players from Assat Pori (Jesse Joensuu, Jussi Rynnas, Masi Marjamaki). I think some Marjamaki The Cup Plates sold somewhere around 200$ at the time.

(Looking at my list I might be blind homer for Panthers and finnish players :D )

As what? I figure he'll be a solid second line center and a captain in the not too distant future for the Flames.

Three words: Calgary First-Rounder. In the last 20 years, they have maybe three picks whose names aren't synonymous with "disappointing" or "never was". You have to go back to 1990 to find a genuinely talented player - and that's Trevor Kidd, Mr. First-Shot-On-Goal-Goes-In himself.

Their track record with young talent, particularly first round talent is abysmal. If Monahan becomes anything, it won't be with Calgary. This is not an indictment of Monahan - it's a condemnation of Calgary's development and scouting.

I think Galchenyuk will go higher than Yakupov... his ITG already outsell Yakupov by a fair margin. Not sure about Mackinon however. It all depends on how well he does on the ice.
