Is set to arrive in stores this week!

Is anybody taking a chance on this product?

I have the "distinct" possibility of landing a case , but Ive been hesitant to pull the trigger due to the Ebay-gate earlier this spring when Brien Gray was caught selling autos from razors purchase under a "unique" ebay sellers name !

I keep thinking to myself .. a fool and his money... but then the hobby desire kicks in and overrides that everytime.

Im thinking it sure would be cool to land an alyssa milano or some of the Lost characters.

What are your plans for this product? If I do buy the case, is there specific wants any of you might have?

do you think the auto's being pulled in these packs will be selling the same as others(these are encased aren't they?) of the same card from the actual release? i would love to get the seth mcfarlane for my set, but no way im paying close to what they have been selling for on ebay

gl if you do break some! i won't be opening any packs though

yes they are supposed to be encased from what i heard.

But they are in magnet holders and could easily be removed im sure.. I do not know if there is any designation on the card to indicate it wasnt from an inkworks pack though???

Probably not - but expect prices of a lot of Inkworks autos to go down - how much I don't know

Prices are gonna take a hit no doubt. It's already had a large hit thanks to Razor ebaying a ton of the SP autos before the product has been released. This will probably be a great time to pick up some of these autos for your sets/collections.

I'm staying away from this faux-product and picking up anything I want on the secondary market. Inkworks stuff has already tumbled (with a few exceptions), and they will continue to fall. The only things really immune are going to be the high-end autos and the Twilight cards. How many Jolie autos do you really think they a) had leftover from Inkworks and b) will actually insert into this product?

I have not heard that the cards will be altered in any way. If that is incorrect, though, expect these to sell even lower.

As Darren said, this product will be good for anyone trying to finish off sets. However, I predict a lot of pack-/box-/case-buyers will be highly disappointed in any returns. This is most definitely NOT a product for investors.

I was going to buy a few boxes, but when I heard about the Upper Deck, er...um...RAZOR fiasco where homeboy was selling cards on eBay, I now figure this product is loaded chock full o' garbage. I'll watch a few breaks to see how they go before I make up my mind.

See this is my exact worry.. These cases arent cheap and even if you hit one or two decent autos its questionable what they will really sell for on open market!

Set fillers isnt my forte

Bought a few of the Sopranos autos I needed to finish the set I was working on, and also bought a Scooby Doo Alicia Silverstone auto, which arrived today. Although I'm happy with the card, I won't lie, and let's just say I'm a bit disappointed that Razor didn't put some sort of sticker on the holder to show they were the buyback versions of these auto'd cards. I really think they missed the boat on that decision. I really think that buying on the secondary market is the way to go on these, and will continue to pick these autos up at great prices for the PC.

I don't think they missed the boat at all. As much as I hate it that my Inkworks cards are now worth a fraction of what they used to be, I'm sure Razor made a very good business decision. I think they probably got a great bulk deal from Inkworks, simply stuck them in one-touches, and sold out of all 299 cases or whatever it was. Look at all the cards on eBay that don't even mention Inkworks in the titles.

The non-sport collectors already know of this whole buyout so people know how to search for the cards.

How much would it of cost them to put a clear Razor sticker over the seal of the one touch holder? I mean they could of made it so they had an exclusive buy-back product on the market, and the way they did it there is no way to tell the difference between the Razor version, and the pack pulled original version if you put them in a one touch, so I will agree to disagree with you on whether they missed the boat, or not. I'm not unhappy these have become available at a great price point on the secondary market, just thought there would be some sort of visual difference between these, and the originals. I will treat this product with the same courtesy as I do hockey products, and let someone else open it. I will fill my collection with singles. Less fun granted, but more cost effective! I don't collect for profit, so I'm okay with doing things this way. ;)

they really are not buy backs as razor didn't buy them back from the secondary market so buy-back is incorrect.
they bought the surplus that will not go out for redemption because of inkworks not being in operation.
but yes i can see your point of them adding a sticker to make it more razor but i would think 98% of the collectors will rip those puppies right out of the holder or take that sticker off in a heartbeat.i am glad there is no difference from the original, and sales have picked up on the product when people found out there was no difference

Or, you can put the originals in one touch holders to match these ones. Best of both worlds for whatever the collector wants to do, so I guess it wasn't that bad of an idea not to seal them afterall. I picked up a Jamie-Lynn Discala auto for $28 + S+H, so who am I to complain?

You are correct the term buy-back was just what was in my head when I typed that, but I think you guys know what I meant. One thing I am thankful for is that I never spent $100 on the Jamie-Lynn Discala Sopranos auto when it first came out. I will be filling the PC with these cards that at one time were out of my price point. I couldn't be happier.

My Silverstone auto arrived today actually, and I got it for $33+ S+H! Locklear, Martin, and a few others will be chased very soon. LMK when you are going after the Martin, as I can wait, so we don't bid against each other. ;)
