Real or fake? For a purpose

I have my eye on this card, but the seller wants big money. The patch scares me because other Lemieux's I have seen from that year look nothing like that. If the patch is real I have no problem paying a premium but I need the HI communities help.

hmmm I dunno...could be real, but I would stay far away from that one. You just never know.

If it was this year's Cup I'd say it's good cuz this is what they are using this year

This 1893-1993 patch was worn during the 92-93 season

The 1992 patch

was worn during 91-92 finals so a different year and jersey

How many jerseys does UD have? I dunno

I thought there was someone out there that had pictures of all patches from the various cup years....I know a lot of fake patches were made from that set, not saying this is one cause I really don't know.

Limited Logos is a tough set because that is usually the one set that has Patches that you would never believe to be authentic in any other set. I have seen some Limited Logos where if I didn't see them pulled in front of my own eys I'd never have believed them.


Here is what he said to me in response to the question:

this card from what i was told by good sources here in PA was pulled and floated around to a few dealers. i posted on boards of course people said it was fake but someone knowledgeable presented pics of patches from same jersey

i looked at that card as well. I have the whole set. I have never seen one like that and to me there is no way a patch that nice would be overlooked by someone who is on these boards. If you notice his bin has dropped, it was 1799 and now down to 1099.
on the other hand.
it is sweet patch.
I would take a chance if you could get the price down.

I remember a Patrick Elias card like that, that had a crazy devils logo on it that everyone thought was fake and turned out to be legit, that card is in someones sig on here. I would lean towards real.

Can't help out too much with that card, but I do know there are several 08-09 Honourable Numbers of Mario's out there with similar Stanley Cup patch pieces.

Box break on another site featured this (card Ironman Indy shows above), but the year of the one on eBay is a heavily faked year. So I don't know about the eBay one???

I live for Limited Logos. My knowledge of the patches for all the years is very very extensive. Its impossible to be 100% certain. But im 99% certain this is a fake.
