Really?

Oh my...
That's insane and ridiculously!!!

Yes those GM on 95-96 Pad Men cards was quite expensive when they at first arrived but not this expensive, must be three desperate set-collectors with plenty of $$$ who're competing at same card and doesn't have the pride to give up even when a cards rushes beyond +10x of the actual BV...

I just experienced that the seller is swedish and all bidders may be swedish also.

94-95 + 95+96 of Fleer Ultra has a very strong nostalgic values to many of us swedes, hockeycard collecting was HUGE in sweden between 1994-1996 (no joking almost all was collecting then) and Fleer Ultra was the most popular brand here because of the value and 1 insert every pack....

Many has more $$$ nowadays compared with when they was youger so maybe they're now trying now to retrieve those cards they couldn't afford then.....but still makes no sense for $100 for THAT card!

Also from same seller and yet same high price....

Could there be a few fools that think thatr 8 of 12 means #'s 8/12 instead of just card 8 in the set.
Sure Pad Men were rare but can't see it being a 100.00 card

First, that's the medallion version - scarcer than just the regular PadMen. Second, it's likely benefiting from the same general phenomenon lifting many mid-late 90s insert sets. Third, it might be a pissing contest between a pair of set collectors over a card that hasn't surfaced in a while. As pointed out, there might also be misunderstanding about scarcity.

And last but not least, it's being shilled out the wazoo.

As previously mentioned a lot of the early - mid 90's inserts sell for crazy prices. I know a lot of my friends are sick of the gu and autos as the market is flooded so they are gone back to collecting older hard to find inserts. I myself love buying these as well. Back in the day most of these tough inserts were impossible to find (no ebay like now) and if you did find them they cost you a small fortune. Its nice to buy a card for $20-40 instead of the hundreds they once cost. Its also much tougher finding the lesser named players as most people let them sit in their boxes thinking that they are not worth isting and usually only go through listing big names. Certain guys also have big following more than their career accomplishments show...see Felix Potvin who I collect.

Thanks, cause I think I am going to go back and finish these sets from them. They were tough to get back then and no ebay/hobby sites to help chasing them down. Loved Fleer Ultra back then.
