Here are my random Pre-2001 additions over the last month or so. I don’t collect a lot these days, so I pick my spots.
I’ll ease you in with a Toronto card, I’ll don’t want to scare anyone away with this baseball post.
I love this set, I now have the Chipper, Belle, and Cruz.
The older Stadium Club cards are some of the best out there, in any Sport.
These 2 make 3 cards I have in this set.
I used to own this card years ago, sold it to fund my David Clarkson collection... OUCH... The reason I don’t collect very much, other than money, was it seemed like far too many cards were coming in with small flaws that were not showing up in scans. This card is one of those, but it is PC, so I will live with it and not buy from the seller again.
The 1999 Retro Ink set is pretty plain, but really appealing to me. It is a nice set to chase. It has HOF and career minor league talent in the set.
This card breaks my new collecting rule. With Chipper, I was trying to stay with cards up to 2000. It was a way to limit my spending, but stay in the game. I saw this card pop up and I knew I had to at least give it a run. It went for half of what I was willing to pay. It was a redemption in 2001, and I hadn’t seen it in years. Glaus had a short stint with the Braves, so that is kind of cool.
This final card should be the last pick up for me until September. It popped up after the Co-Signers card which should have been my last card until September. I saw this card added and almost skipped right by it. I didn’t realize it was the Parallel version until I took a second look. The seller had 0 feedback, so I put in a low offer. He was located about an hour from my work, so I asked myself if someone would want to rip-off somebody that close to them. I expected a counter offer, but got a quick acceptance instead. Great card, great condition, and very nice packaging. I hope he adds more of his collection.
