Registered Trader,
Hey guys,
CardboardNostalgia here. Thanks to the great mods here they allowed me to keep my old account by update my username. A few weeks ago I was approached by a sports card investor from Chicago about purchasing my username/brand. He really liked the name, really really liked it. At first I was pretty hesitant about giving up the name and expected an offer that wasn't worth considering. I had used that username for years afterall and had a meager following.
In 2015 I decided to use the CardboardNostalgia name and immediately bought the domain, and setup the username on a variety of websites. I did this for the remote possibility that I started to get a following. Earlier this year during the beginning of Covid I started an instagram because Jeremy spent a lot of time talking about it on SCL. A short time after starting the IG account the buyer reached out to me to acquire the "brand".
In terms of buying social media accounts, this person made an insane offer. $XXXX USD. If you have ever attempted to sell an account or buy one, you'd quickly realize that it takes thousands of followers and a great deal of influence in an area to actually get that kind of money. My account did not really have any of those things.
The investor told me an interesting story about his journey back into the hobby after years off. His company is beginning the process of buying brands and collections to start a card fund of sorts. It further shows the new money coming into the space and what some guys are willing to pay when they have virtually unlimited resources.
The deal included an email, Twitter, IG, website/domain, twitch, etc. Most importantly it included my YouTube username. Five years of box breaks have been removed from that channel and will soon be reuploaded to my new YouTube account.

1999-00 Be A Player Millennium:
My first upload is my first break ever. The video quality is terrible but I haven't seen a sealed box of Millennium available for sale since I opened that one.
The investor in question is not a member of HI and has no access to this account. Any association with Cardboard Nostalgia in the future is not related to me.
Thanks for reading!
TLDR: I sold out, this is my new username!
