WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat has been hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm on Wednesday night in Tampa, Fla. He is currently listed in stable condition but it is unknown how long he will remain hospitalized.
WWE acknowledged the situation with Steamboat (real name Richard Blood) on its website: "Late Wednesday night, Ricky was experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder, and immediately went to the hospital."
The company followed up on the situation saying that "according to medical officials, his condition is most likely not related to his performance on Monday night."
Steamboat was involved in an angle during Raw on Monday night where he, along with several other legends, were attacked by The Nexus group.
His son Richie, who is currently training at the WWE's developmental group Florida Championship Wrestling, is posting updates about his father on his Twitter account. On Friday he wrote: "Thanks again everyone for the prayers & msgs. Dad is fine right now. God & you guys have helped us & things will get better as time passes."
