Upstanding Member,
Made the usual trek down on Saturday , got there around noon. It was good to see all of the regular gang of Hi members plus I got to meet quite a few I hadn't before. Huge props to Bruce for his hospitality at the booth, there was a constant group of members coming and going throughout the afternoon.
I went down with a plan to open a box of BTP, little did I know Bruce was selling box's to members, needless to say I grabbed one fairly quickly and busted it at the ITG booth. Fun break, my redemption was an awesome Ward Super Glove 1/1 with a sweet silver swatch. Get to the rest in a bit with scans.
Seems Cyril had received a Sean Burke Super Glove 1/1 redemption on Friday so we did a swap and I was able to add the Burke to the PC.
I never seem to pickup too many Big M cards, they always seem overpriced to me, or I'm just cheap
Having no real luck as far as Mahovlich cards go I got the itch to bust a second box of BTP, sweet redemption of Pelle Lindbergh.
At any rate here are scans of the breaks and my few Big M additions.
I was really pleased with the hits from the BTP. The Varlamov /Mason Draft Day Duos is a great card of two of the games bright spots these days.
Also the Mason auto was a nice pull . The Olivier Roy Mask is the gold version.
The Mikka Wiikman jersey is awesome, great big bulging seam and stitching.
I also made another deal with Cyril for the Mahovlich Franchise auto, swapped him a Bower auto from the same set. Thanks to Doug (dlowthers) for a sweet deal on the Bower.
The Big M Notable was a freebie from my main man Rob (Tanguayfan), thanks Rob, a pleasure chatting with you as always.
I got to meet a good friend for the first time, Winston, who handed me the Mahovlich York peanut butter card, thanks a million bud, great to finally meet you.
Lastly but most assuredly not least. Ryan(TripleB) had told me he had something to give me at the show. I couldn't believe it when he handed me a Sean Burke Goalie Gear and jersey auto card. These suckers are out of /10. I can't thank you enough my friend, I know where you were coming from with this gesture and it just proves again , the gentleman you are, you rock bud.
Thats enough jawing on my part.
Thanks.
Dan.
It was a very enjoyable afternoon for me, it was nice to talk hockey and joke around with the gang and get my mind off of other things for awhile.
