Hey all,
I scan everything in my collection for cataloging purposes and I feel like my current scanner just doesn't pick up shine. Does anyone have suggestions for a scanner that might better pick up things like rainbow foil, refractors, dufex, etc.?

There are certain filters that you can put over the card to highlight different things, but for getting the nice rainbow effect you really have to use a camera and the right lighting. I can get a great scan of the card, but no rainbow. Sometimes I can get a hazy effect but not the same as a camera. For scanning heavy foil cards a light filter works well, basically it diffuses the light during the scan.

I had to build a cheap light box out of scrap wood for shiny cards and some others that always scan too darkly. I use my phone and transfer them to my laptop to do the editing.
