terry: what make/model scanner are you using? i suspect is an older one w/ CIS technology, or a newer "all in one" printer/scanner that usually also have CIS. I recently went out of my usual spending range and splurged for the CCD scanner. Made extreme quality difference in scanning slabs and one touches.
