The damage is unbelievable. The amount of water in the Dome is just mind boggling. Up to the 10th row of seats. Jumbo tron room completely submerged. Dressing rooms destroyed. Countless pieces of Calgary Flames history and archive photos/video gone.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the devastation city-wide (and extending throughout Southern Alberta). I am extremely fortunate to be in an area not affected but know of a number of people who lost a great deal.
Thankfully they are all ok. This will take a bit to fully settle in the enormity of the situation and rebuild.
Wow that picture is devastating to look at, and probably even more-so for our fellow Flames fans.
It will be interesting to see what happens as a result of all this disaster.
God speed Southern Alberta!
Edit: After browsing twitter, it appears that picture above was photoshopped.
I pulled this pic just now off of the latest tweet:
Here's a picture that they claim isn't photoshopped.
The luxury suites are between the "lights", which are the exits.
Like Brett, I am fortunate to be on higher ground, still got some major "seepage" though. The amount of water in some neighborhoods is amazing. I was watching the news all day, and one reporter looked like he was stationed next to a river, not a street. Major devastation at the Stampede grounds, I don't know how they can be ready in 2 weeks.
