I just won an auction card and already left them positive, my bad. Anyways after putting all the cards away I noticed a card I bought was in a icky screw down. So I pulled the card out and sure enough it was too too thin for the card and peeled the fresh coat of clear off the card. I tried going back ebay to search for another one and sure enough sellers just want too much that card as a buy it now. So before you leave feedback just make sure you completely check your cards. :snapout:

UGHHHHHH.....I had this happen a few times. People sending thick cards smashed in a screwdown for years...as soon as you separate the holder the card separates! I had this happen on a $200 card a year or so ago I was pissed.

too bad they can make these so penny sleeves will fit and still look nice...I probably only have cheap Pacific parallels(or other cheap cards) in screw downs now(the old multi card black border ones)

I still use screw downs, just don't put a thick card in a thin screw down. same concept as people cramming a thick card into a standard top loader.

I heard about a trick some 15 years ago and I while don't have definitive proof that it actually works, I haven't EVER had a card peel on me after removing it from the screwdown. Any time I have received a card in a screwdown that looks like the person torqued the hell out of the screws, I throw it in the freezer overnight. The next morning, I take it out of the freezer, take out the screws and carefully take the top off of the screwdown and again, to date, with no issue or damage to the card.

Just for future reference.
