Verified Trader,
Wow, we're already a week into May? I'm a bit slow getting my monthly wrap up together, but I guess I have a good excuse with little Henrik taking up most of my time - he's almost 5 months now and super cute, but about the only activity he likes is jumping while daddy holds him... my arms are getting really strong
Anyways, it's been one of my slowest months on record, so a slightly abbreviated show, here's my highlights from the past month or so.
For my Lord Stanley's Mug master set, the pickups are usually few and far between... I've mostly resorted to upgrading cards here and there - looking for multi-coloured swatches on the gold parallel cards, and at least non-white swatches wherever possible on the regular memorabilia cards. This nice Red Wings quad still has one white swatch, but a nice upgrade on my previous copy...
Then courtesy of a deal with syzygy, two additions to the collection! Other than 1/1's, the only cards I'm still missing for my master set are a handful of expired redemption cards - was thrilled to pick up the Messier which leaves me with just 4 more to go.
And in the same deal I picked up the Bob Gainey game-used stick which took me to a couple milestones, it was my 30th card from the stick subset, the halfway mark... and also my 184th 1/1 overall from the product which is exactly 40% of all 1/1's in Mug!
I'm also a bit of a nut for Masterpieces... from the 08-09 iteration I picked up the Messier (Oilers) jersey card, leaves me with just Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe, and Tony O left for the set.
And from 14-15 Masterpieces, one of the best-looking hand-painted portraits I've seen, Burnaby Joe Sakic leaves me needing just P.K. Subban to complete the set.
On to some Sedins... it feels like a second full-time job at times trying to wheel and deal on ePack to put together rainbows. I not only completed the full Canucks team rainbow from series 1 and 2, but also an additional Danny rainbow from series 1, and now my Hank rainbow from series 2!
One of the tougher cards to get on ePack - requires 5 purples which are not very easy to acquire in trades to exchange for the black rainbow. At the time I completed this, there were only 9 purples that had even been pulled, so to pick up both this black as well as a purple for my PC I basically had to get two-thirds of the copies that were available.
My dear friend 87sluggo somehow beat me to the punch when the first copy of this card surfaced a few years back, adding it to his Kesler collection. I knew that left just two copies to go around, so when this one surfaced I hit the BIN pretty quick
Speaking of Mr 87sluggo - he decided to get physical custom copies made of Kesler's from the Topps digital-only trading card game, and graciously had these Sedins made at the same time!
In a bizarre coincidence, so far this year I've picked up 10 Danny printing plates (half of all the plates made of him this year) - before I finally picked up my first Hank (he wasn't in Trilogy so there are only 16 plates of his). It's really been raining plates, picked all of these up this month, with two more incoming.

Couple of UD Danny's
Still on the printing plate topic - picked up a couple of Hank's from National Treasures. This first one is from 13-14 Contenders...
And only the yellow plate is new, but what the heck, I'll show 'em all off together - these are from 12-13 Prime, from the Peerless Patches subset. Now the interesting part is, the actual card was never produced, so perhaps with the full set of plates now in hand I can make it myself
There are oodles of these two panel cards that I believe were scrap that went out the back door when Pacific shut down - I'm not really into the ones with a Sedin and some random other player, but on the occasions when I can find dual panels that just happen to have both twins, I pick 'em up.
No idea why I didn't chase the full sets back when these came out, they're really tough to find now. From 08-09 there were "Sedin" manufactured nameplates of both twins, as well as a "Canucks" just for Henrik - this being the "U" from the latter. I still need SEN from Daniel's name, DS from Henrik's name, and NACK from the team name - oddly enough put those together and it spells out SEND SNACK
Does that mean anything? Not really, but it amuses me.
Last but not least, my 19th number piece from 13-14 Prime. Normally I don't bother showing these, but thought it was cool that of all the other copies I had so far, none of them were from this particular type of jersey. I've got lots of blue on white background, some white on blue, some navy/silver/red on white, but this is the first of this kind that I've seen. Crazy to think just how many different jerseys Panini must have had of each twin for the short period of time they held the license. Even with 19 out of the print run of 49, I don't think I've quite got even one complete sleeve yet, so I'm always hunting for more.
