Not too surprising - the suspension that is, and the culprit. Ruutu is a known cheap-shot artist, and probably should've gotten more games for that one. But I will also say, players have to take more responsibility for these things themselves as well. Having your head down is careless. This is the NHL, and if you're unaware of what's going on around you, even if for a second, you're going to get clocked. I like what Daryl Sutter had to say. He said in so many words, that when he played, players used to police themselves. That if something like this happened, that the players would let Ruutu have it for as long as it took, until he learned his lesson (whether for the rest of the night, or the next game, or whatever). I guess I just see some faults on both sides of the hit. Players should learn from these scenarios. And so should the league.
