Hi,

I don't usually sell a lot on ebay, but have recently decided to try it.

I'm just concerned about scammers. I've read too many threads about how some guy claimed that he never got the card.

What is the best way to protect yourself? What are the policies?

Should tracking be added to items that go over $50? How is the seller protected if it's less than $50?

Thanks

I dont think you are protected even if u send something at 20$ if buyer claims never recieved paypal usually favors the buyer and not seller im afraid, only way is to send registered even on lower value cards to be safe otherwise you dont know 100% sure that buyer got the package and signed for it.

Ultimately the onus is on the seller to prove if a product has been shipped.

So to protect yourself from being scammed, i usually set my auctions to not allow bidders with less than 10 feedback (without prior approval) and never ship to an unconfirmed PayPal addy (you lose your seller's protection if you do).

Whether you set your 'Registered shipping' options at $50 or $75 or less than $50, it's really boils down to your comfort level. So if you decide to ship a $40 item with no tracking, you have to consider the risks involved if the deal does go sideways.

Happy selling Dave! Hope this helps.
