Time to show them off....comics that is:p !! Show off your best comic. I will add a few when I get home in a couple hours.

Well I guess I will start it off. Here is my copy of FF#48 1st App of the Silver Surfer. I picked up this copy a few months ago along with a beautiful #49 (1st Galactus) and #50 1st Whyat Wingfoot.

To be quite honest I've never collected comics to invest just simply to read the storylines. I guess my best would be Ultimate Spider-Man #1 but that seems to be dropping.

I should start buying 1st appearances and such but I prefer the storylines to the "value" side of comics.

I don't have any comics myself but here are some my wife has had since she was a kid.

The Lucy is from 1958 and the others are from 1957.

Thanks for the look.

Dan.

I don't buy for investment or I would buy CGC graded comics haha. I only buy comics that I will read, my complete collection except the CGC signature comics are for reading. However I love 1st app comics, I guess they are like rookie cards.

Ya, 1st appearance stuff is essentially the RC of comics. I also collect only to read... I actually could care less about value. Havign said that, I do think having some 1st appearances would be awesome. I might make a list of (affordable) 1st appear characters I like.

My dream is to own Daredevil #1 Vol 1. It's actually within reach (unlike say Action comics, or Amazing Fantasy #15, etc).

I still buy a ton of HC books. Marvel master works and other type of comic books are really good. They display nicely on a book shelf and they cost only a fraction of a first print. My son likes them because they don't stink (thats what he told me haha). He hates the sell of old comics.

I'm a little late to the party, but here's my fav 2. I don't have a tonne of the CGC books but a few years ago (when they just started coming out) I was starting to try and put together the X-Men run and decided that if I was buying 1-200 online without getting to see it, I'd only buy a graded copy. If I want to read the story I grab the trades or HC, but do like to collect the odd run as a collection and keep the condition to a premium by not constantly opening and reading.

Incredible Hulk #181 1st Wolverine CGC 8.0

Giant Size X-Men #1 1st New X-Men CGC 8.5

Another that I'm very happy with isn't a special issue, but Original X-Men #20 in a CGC 9.2 is definately my highest graded "old" book.

Great books with awesome grades. The Giant size X has the old CGC lable, don't see many of those. Thanks for sharing them.

well all my comics are my best comics...lol since i don't collect to invest.

the only slabs I've got are my SS books.

here are a few of my faves though.

Great comics!!! Surprised to see them listed here, some of my favorites. I expected to see more 90's stuff or moderns not great old key comics like these.

Thanks.

I (like a good chunk of the comic collectors out there) stopped in the 90s. The first Parallax storyline did me in.

When I got back into collecting a couple years ago I decided to to concentrate mainly on the stuff from my childhood I really liked and collecting 1st apps of my fave characters.

I'm working on an SA/BA Phantom Stranger run (only need 2 issues) SA JLA and GL runs and CA/Mod Firestorm and G.I. Combat runs.

Hm. I haven't really bought older comics in quite some time. At one time, I owned a complete run of X-men from #3 upward to about #210. Sold the lot for ridiculous coin - something like $3000 - despite most of those early issues being not so minty.

I sold the GI Combat issue 87 a few months ago. Seemed to be a big demand on it so I moved it.

Q, you are like alot of other collectors especially those who collect several different thing (cards and comics). That is a fantastic run of X you sold, there will always be great demand for that title.

Nah...I've hinted strongly to my wife that 87 would be a great bday or Christmas gift for me. I'm not a condition snob...F- or better and I'll be happy.

Shall see how that plays out. Bday on the 27th and Christmas just 10 weeks away.

:)
