Hi all

I’m in Canada and have mailed cards to buyers in the states. As most of us are aware mail delivery is slower than usual. Recently I’ve had buyers file cases of not receiving cards with EBay. In all 3 cases (cards are worth less than $15)
Buyer received a refund and subsequently received the card. I did not add tracking, my bad, however buyer did eventually receive their card. I know because they posted positive feedback and one posted negative feedback.
Do I have any recourse through EBay or PP? Buyers have refused to pay. If not
What can I do in the future? Very frustrating mail slow and refunds fast. Thanks for your input.

Steve

I had this happen a few times in the spring/summer, but mostly folks have been honest (I ship 95% sans tracking), luckily nothing more expensive than $50ish have I been screwed on. It's a gamble no doubt. Just send them a message saying karma will come and bite them in the *** one day.

I've had this but only with someone in Quebec. Nothing we can do.

I mean you could try to contact eBay/PayPal but I am guessing they will say since it was refunded there is nothing they can do.

Not true. This happened to me. You can appeal the decision and get your money back. Contact eBay and with proof of the buyer receiving the package, you'll get your money back.

You must ship the package with proof within your stated delivery time and tracking must show delivery, even if it’s five months later you will get a refund. If you take a week to ship your package out you will not get a refund, even if it eventually shows up as delivered.

I had a buyer receive a package, leave positive feedback and still get their money back.

They said they left the feedback on the wrong item and mine was never received.

Unless they are silly enough to post it for sale themselves there is nothing they can do for me.

There are people that target Canadian sellers knowing they won’t send with tracking and they just have to make a claim and they’ll get the card free. It is very annoying. But most are honest. I have a claim open right now from a buyer that bought three cards. Total was like $14. I’ll end up refunding them because I have no choice but they are gonna wait the 4 days. And hopefully they get the package and are honest. But I’m not holding my breath.
Nothing you can do about it. Unless you want to charge for tracking but you won’t be able to sell low valued cards. Nobody will pay $16-20 shipping on a $4 card.

Comes down to honesty. I had something incoming from overseas that had tracking but I hadn't received it and it was approaching 90 days. I filed the claim and received my refund. A couple of weeks later I received my cards ... I contacted the seller and sent him the money outside of ebay. Wasn't his fault that covid was causing havoc with mail delivery.
