I think its highly admirable that you're willing to part with such a great collection, to help not yourself, but a close friend. Its safe to say that everyone would be very lucky to have a good buddy like you and I just wanted to bring focus to that.
Its a pity you have to part with your collection, no doubt you have spent a lot of time and money on it to make it so good. However, I do think that every once in a while, certain circumstances will put us in the position to reevaulate the importance of such a hobby and I think you made the right decision.
