Defunct promotions, and fastest KO records, Travis Fulton's win-loss record/win streak and such aside, what are some of MMA's less known seemingly unbeatable records out there? I've got a few I'd like to share and then want your guys' input. I may turn this into a future article.

-Travis Fulton - The first 59 wins of his career (not consecutive - Just the first 59 wins) were won in the 1st round. This all occurred in the 90s. Again, the way MMA is sanctioned and structured now, I don't ever see that record being beaten.

-Shane Carwin - 12 consecutive 1st round wins to start a career. This is going to be a very tough record to beat. Considering the quality of competition he beat, this record is all the more impressive. Ronda Rousey has a legitimate shot at this record, as I can only see 3 women at her weight challenging her to go out of a first round (Sarah Kaufman, Miesha Tate, Sara McMann.) Consider that in her fighting career (both amateur and pro,) the Miesha Tate fight doubled her career in-ring time, there's some trouble there. I assume she will have to face Cyborg Santos at some point as well, so that might muddy the waters a bit.

-Shannon Ritch - 75 career losses. I don't think anybody will touch this record because I'd hope they're smart enough to pack it in before they let it go this far.

I'd dare say at this point that Frankie Edgar's per match cage time in the UFC is pretty close to unbeatable as well, though that will continue to be a sliding variable as time goes on since he goes back to 15 minute fights if he doesn't beat Ben Henderson this summer. For his UFC career, I believe his average is around 18 minutes, and as a champ, it was just a shade over 24 minutes per.

Anything else?

Personally I think Joe Lauzon's 21 for 21 finish streak is a lot more impressive than Fulton's 59 first round finishes. I mean you look at the level of competition and it's not even close. Fulton really was fighting a who's who of the Bum Fights circuit.

Daniel Pineda is 17 for 17 wins/finishes, will be interesting to see how long he can run his streak.

Yeah, I don't doubt Fulton's record is padded by cans. Most of his records to me are unimpressive, considering that he's beaten the same guys over and over again to get to his numbers. I'm just saying it's technically an unbeatable record with the way MMA is sanctioned and such now :)

I may have an impressive streak thread too, but I'm just looking for actual records right now, no matter how unimpressive or how bunk...
