On the heels of djsports nice little Pro Set sale, I listed a 05-06 Fleer Ultra Jeff Hoggan Blue auto #/25 yesterday for a starting bid of $2.99 and had a message asking to change it to a BIN. Here is the listing the buyer asked to be changed to....

Win for me:D Are these that rare? Any guesses or other set collectors of this stuff know? Either way I am pretty happy right now. I had this listed on one of my sale posts here that I would have been happy getting $5 for. Suprise, surprise.

Doug.

WOW!! Yeah, they're rare I'd say. Seems like fewer and fewer older low #'d cards are popping up. Well, at least it seems that way to me. Still though, getting $50 for that is unreal!

I remember the checklist for that set being ridiculous (100 players I think?) but given that the product is still available in spades, even after the great $40 a box purge of 06/07-07/08, I'd think the case run must have been around 7500-10000 cases, meaning these were 1 per 3 or 4 cases.

That's a crazy sale Doug...reminds me I think I have 3 or 4 Mike Cammalleris...perhaps I should list one.

Set collector for sure.
Wish I knew you had one.. Still needed it for my set

Chadsexington - have an extra Cammalleri you want to trade or sell need that one also...

I don't know about those odds, this was my sons favorite product and we opened at least 6-8 cases of it working on a master set. We hit 1 or 2 per case, maybe we just got lucky.

Whoa...how many regular Fresh Ink cards were you hitting then? I know people that opened box upon box upon box of the stuff, and didn't hit a single auto, let alone a blue one.

We were getting 2-3 regular autos per case, 1-2 patches per case, and the auto jerseys were 1 every case or two. Never did hit an auto patch though. The guy we bought most of it from had really old stock that he got back when it first came out (a friend got a Crosby Uniformity Auto Patch /5 in his case from this shop), also bought a case from Blowout.

I missed out on the Spezza last night while watching walking dead!
got out bid at $ 26!!!!! Dude stole that one...

I know when I was in the market for the Steen the blue was easy to get but boy did I have one heck of a time getting the regular one. I would concur and say it is a set collector.

So I emailed the buyer asking if he needed anything else from this set as I do have a few other rarer pieces from it and he told me he is just a player collector. He needed just needed it for his Hoggan collection. I guess everyone has a collector out there. Who knew?? lol.

Never knew there was that much competition for Hoggan collectors that the buyer asked to drop $50 on it haha.
Nice sale Doug.

Nice sale. He might have been outbid by some DEL collectors. I know that Reinprecht stuff sold quite well at the beginning of the DEL season.

If they are the blue autos I think they are, please speak to our MutumboTan first. Ben collects these.

I didnt even know but do now and I'll keep my eyes open for any more.

Was your buyer Jeff Hoggan's mom, maybe? ha. Congrats that is awesome!

Mark

lol. I didnt even check the name. Maybe it is. I sold a Brad Marchand to another Marchand last year. I am sure they might have been related.

If they were in Nova Scotia, it likely was. Saw the family at Game 7 SC Finals in Vancouver and they were all decked out in Marchand paraphernalia.
