Hey guys, I was just wondering why there is such a large difference in the values of the /99 SPGU Rookies and the /99 Ice Rookies? The Ice rookies sell for double, if not more, than the same player in SPGU. Is it that the Ice is the acetate cards? Or people just have no love for SPGU?

Thanks for the input guys.

Rich

SPGU - the lottery hit you're chasing is the not the RCs/99, it's autos and GU that everyone chases after. In Ice, the lottery hit IS the RCs/99

Very few people actually collect the base set of SPGU, which kills a lot of the demand right now. We should also factor in that Upper Deck pumps just about every awful, terrible, cup-of-coffee scrub into SPGU every single year -- so your ratio of good players to bad players is at its absolute worst.

With Ice, you can hit the huge #/10 patch/AU's. SPGU patch AU's have alot of less popular players in it.

didn't know that. I'd tried to Hunt down a Mueller one, no luck and I recalled seeing the Crosby's set a record until the Cup came out.
