Sports Collectibles Auction Yields Over $55K in Sales

The "Sunday Internet Sports Collectibles Auction" hosted by Heritage Auctions contained an interesting mix of cards and memorabilia from several sports and sales of more than $55,000. The highest selling lot consisted of a near set of 1953 Bowman Color Baseball. The lot contained 151 of 160 cards in the series and sold for $1,792.50. Other highlights include:

  • 1955 Topps Baseball Collection containing 128 cards that were hand-pulled by the owner during 1955 ($1,428.03)
  • 1953 Topps Baseball Collection containing 99 cards that were hand-pulled by the owner during 1953 ($1,345.57)
  • 1960 Topps Baseball near set containing 570 of 572 cards ($1,314.50)
  • 500 Home Run Club Lithograph autographed by Williams, Robinson, Killebrew, Jackson, Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Schmidt, Banks, Mathews and McCovey ($1,135.25)
  • Complete set of 1989 Perez Steele "Celebration" postcards autographed by 40 Hall of Fame members including Hank Aaron, Ernie Banks, Johnny Bench, Yogi Berra, Catfish Hunter, Harmon Killebrew, Mickey Mantle, Stan Musial, Pee Wee Reese, Duke Snider, Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski ($1,135.25)
  • Michael Jordan autographed Bulls jersey, UDA certified ($896.25)
  • 1975 Pete Maravich signed endorsement contract with Pepsi ($836.50)
  • 1986 Fleer Basketball complete set including sticker set ($836.50)

The auction contained 211 lots and sales totaled $55,361 with 340 bidders.
