The canvas cards in upper deck, are they considered inserts or parallels? I was once told they were parallels but the more I think about it I think there inserts, the parallels would be the exclusives /100 and HG /10 correct?

They would be inserts. Parallels are the same as the base set, with a bit more shebang.

Easy answer. They are inserts. Parallels are cards that are numbered in the set exactly the same as the base. These aren't. They are a completely separate set

btw there is no such thing as a silly question. Lord knows i have asked a few of those over my life time. Always feel free to ask!

Oh this is confusing lol

Okay. A parallel set would have the same numbering as the base set. For example, there are two parallels for each UD base card; the UD Exclusive/100 and the High Gloss/10 - they are the same card number, the same picture, but are serial numbered. On rare, and they are definitely rare, occasions, the parallel will be a different picture than the base card, but it will be numbered the same card number as the base card.

Every player in the base set of Series 1 did not have a canvas. Same in Series 2. There were some Young Guns in the 'base' S1 set, that had their canvas in S2. Given this, the canvas cards are an insert. It can't be considered a parallel unless every base card is represented.

For the reasons stated above, the Canvas set is technically an insert set. However, for the purposes of my own collection, I consider the Canvas cards to be a parallel of the base card (for those players who appear in both sets). I guess what I'm trying to say is it when it comes to your collection it's up to you!

What I'm doing is taking all the cards out of binders and putting them into boxes. Base in a box. Inserts in a box. Parallels in a box. Jerseys in a box. Autos in a box. But I think I'll have to go threw the insert and parallel boxes again lol.
