Well this arrived in the mail today, not the actual cards but we FINALLY got a response from them. Let me know if you can't read it and I will let you know what it says.....bottom line we are getting the BAP draft redemption by March this year :) We are also getting our shipping and handling fees back

Here is the read...

Someone's not telling the whole truth here. I saw the signed release - they can't legitimately say that ITG didn't work with them. I don't know what more they wanted from ITG, but Brian pretty much grabbed his ankles as he was told - and they couldn't work it out??

I think my favorite part of the letter is the part that says "collectors will be pleased to complete their sets from this program with a high quailty Upper Deck card."

Well f*uck, of course they're pleased just to get the gosh darn cards finally, LOL.

And yeah, Steve is right, Dr. Price went to bat countless times for the collectors to get this done and got shafted in this deal. :(

That's ok, and this is a bit OT but shows the karma factor, UD and the NHL are about to take a long length of pipe themselves when their All Star festivities in Dallas come crashing down.

That show and everything associated with it will be a joke. Site location, autograph lineup, dealers at the show, etc, etc........

I have been to 3 All Star games and FANtasy's, whatever they're called now, and this one is an absolute pitance comapred to the previous efforts.

I say haha to you UD, you lose at the end of the day!:D

"...begin distribution of the cards by the end of March."

Translation from UD speak: The least eagerly awaited card of all the redemptions we have will be sent out in late March, and the ones that most people have been screaming about will be sent out in July.

These most be the least eagerly awaited for you but for many of us these are the top priority. That being said the whole redemption process is a joke and people want any card they have been waiting for for more than 3 months!

Sorry, let me clarify what I meant. Players who have little hobby interest and who have only appeared few games will be sent out in March, but those of us waiting for "impact" players with hobby interest (Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Cam Ward come to mind without looking at the list) will likely be waiting several months longer. Believe me, I'm eagerly awaiting the Ward that I'll be getting, and everyone who redeemed anything or now wants a redeemed version of a player lists these cards among the ones they most want to get their hand on.

Sorry, makes sense ;) I hear you, I should get mine very soon (its only Klepis) but I am still looking forward to getting it!

I am not sure if this is the right post to place this information. But if not PLMK and I will edit it and remove it.

I was just talking to some person with Upper Deck who identified himself as Nick.I had a couple question about the redemption program and also a concern that my email to customer service has gone unanswered now for 2 weeks.

Nick informed me that UD is implementing a new redemption program or revamping their present redemption system. They are going to start at the end of Feb.2007. sending replacement cards out to those that are waiting. The lower end cards will be the first to be replaced.High end cards will continue to wait or they can also except replacement.I do not think that these people with the 8 autos on them will be wanting in subsitution. But what those people will have to do is continue to wait.
Cards that are parts of sets will not be issued and UD will notify all trading card publications(price guides) to inform them that those sets will now be considered complete without those cards.
I am sure he said more but those are the two big highlights.

So I guess that the chances of selling a redemption card of a star or a scarce card will be very hard to do.

I ask him why they could not release the cards without the autos.I know that I am working on a set of Hot Prospects.I would sooner have a patch card with no autograph in my set then no card at all.Thanks,Winston.

To add to this, from speaking with someone from upper deck it seems they are attempting in February to clean the redemption slate as they settle up the rookie redemptions as well. What it sounds like they want to do is find out 100% who is sending a card back if they dont get a yes they will replace it...they will do this for every card. Now of course UD see's this as a good thing but anyone who has had a card "replaced" knows 9 out of 10 this just leads to more emails, more phone calls and more upset customers because UD tends to replace cards with what they see as a good replacement.

Now what will get even more people upset, this is also going to happen to non inserts like SP Authentic future watch rookies as well as The Cup rookies and removing them from the checklist. Now I know some here were also working on both sets and set collectors tend to over pay for redemptions for their set. It will be very interested how these customers are compensated. I am 100% sure UD will rub customers the wrong way with this one, it's rare to see them replace a card with an equal card.

I am ok with UD doing this, its something and its better then just waiting, emailing and calling. I just hope they realize a couple things with their replacements.

#1) You do not replace a $400bv card with (4) $100 cards, I dont care what the $400 card is and what the $100 cards is, its 1:1.

#2) You dont replace a high end 05/06 rookie with something from a set that is from 2001-2002.

#3) Most important, you don't send out the replacement until the customer says "yes I am ok with that" you dont do your "pick 3 players" and 2 months later you find out you got someone not even in your 3 picks and its something you would normally throw away or give to someone for free.

I hope UD realizes customers spend a lot of money on redemption cards and they care about them just as much as a nice card they pulled.

Let me get this straight. They are sending out redemption cards for a set that will not look like the rest of the set yet will be a part of that set?

Why would anyone be happy to receive a card that is supposedly from a set but doesn't match? Especially if the logo is different.

I don't know the story but to me it looks like ITG got hosed here.
