Today John Tavares will finally be drafted to an NHL team. We know the Islanders have first pick but don't know if they'll choose him. I've followed Johns hockey career and collected his cards and memorabilia since he was drafted by the Oshawa Generals. He was drafted early when the OHL recognized he was an exceptional underage player and since then, he's broken several OHL records. I'm sure today will be one of his happiest days thus far.

Many HI members know that I've focused most of my attention to collecting his cards. I believe I have the most complete Tavares collection considering all the products created till now. Almost all the cards are made by ITG and I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Price and everyone at ITG for their communication and the producing of visually nice cards with authentic memorabilia.

There is one stat that maybe a few HI members aren't aware of. John Tavares has had more cards produced with him as a junior than any other junior player. I can say it's been very challenging, expensive, time consuming and satisfying to collect his cards over the last 4 years+. I searched eBay, HI, other hobby sites, stores, Expo's, card shows and many web sites to put this collection together. I believe I currently own over 350 different Tavares cards and close to 100 actual 1/1's and Show Card 1/1's.

I believe I've obtained about 99% of all the Tavares production cards created up to the Toronto 2009 Spring Expo. There are a few cards still coming in and I'll add them once they arrive.

It took me many weeks to scan and tag these cards and load them in my photo bucket, so I may have made a few errors here or there with the titles. I did the best I could with the pics considering my scanner is not the greatest.

I wanted to put a library of his cards together at this time for many reasons.

1. Other HI members will have a place to refer to if they are looking to buy a John Tavares card and want to know what the card may look like.

2. These pics can be a reference if any fake patches or auto's start appearing on eBay or other sites.

3. To share with HI many Tavares cards that have only been seen by a handful of collectors.

4. I'm considering cutting back and not spending as much time and money on collecting Tavares now that UD will have the rights to produce his cards.

5. It's JT's Big Day and thought draft day would be fitting to show the collection.

None of the cards in my bucket are for sale. I may consider selling the entire collection down the road. However, that time isn't here yet.

I do have a few Tavares doubles and I will be putting a list together with these cards and prices will be attached so there are no grey areas. If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll try and send a copy of them to you.

I hope you enjoy viewing the cards and after many years I'm happy to share them with HI members. :D:D:D:D

UNREAL! I hope you continue to collect Tavares. I am still in shock, what an awesome collection.

Holy Schnikes:eek:! That is by far the best Tavares Collection! I hope you continue to collect his cards. Even if you would just collect all his Rookie Cards and parallels. That would really make your collection Shine!

i kid i kid

THAT IS AN AMAZING COLLECTION!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

What an amazing question, but I am confused about one thing. I have 1 John Tavares card in my collection (actually it's incoming), and I didn't see it in your bucket. It's his autograph from the 2007-08 Team Set Album.
