Seems as though this is the title getting the biggest response.

Any comments or additional success stories you have about what you think is a successful New 52 title??

I was digging Justice League but fell behind when my twins were born...have to catch up, likely in graphic form. Got Batman #1 for free at Fan Expo and might look into that one too...was only sticking with JL, Superman and Action Comics. Lost interest in AC EARLY.

Batman features Scott Snyder as the writer (who is fantastic) and Greg Capullo as the artist (who I like quite a bit... probably because I loved Spawn growing up).

Anyways, the storyline has essentially been about the Court of Owls. I won't spoil it if you haven't read it, but it's pretty entertaining. Well worth the read.

Batman by far is the book of the year! Just introduced the Joker again to the story and the first issue of the new arc was insane!

I've also been reading JL, Green Lanter, Nightwing, and surprisingly the new Aquaman series is very good as well.

I'm liking the Batman stuff.....in some of the different series the stories may be lacking, BUT the artwork is AMAZING!!!!!! I was just going to do Swamp Thing, but Batman stuff is now catching my eye as well........Fabok is a local artist who is now working on some of the Batman titles and he will be at a comic show in the Windsor area in December.....looking forward to getting an auto from him....

Bullet points:
- Court of Owls was great until their "big reveal". THAT SUCKED. Snyder's got something delightfully blood-soaked and deranged up his sleeve with Death of the Family though. I enjoyed what I've read so far.

- Animal Man and Swamp Thing - essentially the same book - have been piloted beautifully by Lemire and Snyder, and the current Rotworld arc promises to be great.

- Earth 2 and World's Finest are excellent. This is how you properly reintroduce your multiverse.

- Also gotta give a shout out for All-Star Western. This is slowly growing on me. Being written by Palmiotti, and he's genuinely glad to be on this book.

- I was following Green Lantern, but now that's jumped the shark IMHO. Back to ignoring it.

Over at the Marvel universe....

- Daredevil has consistently been one of the best titles (for years now). From Kevin Smiths mini run to Bendis', then Brubakers now Mark Waids the book has easily been one of the best Marvel puts out each and every month. Mark Waids run (19 issues long as of today) has won numerous awards for the best title/book of the year. Definitely the the most consistent monthly read. My favourite.

- Greg Ruckas 16 issue run of Punisher just finished up. After having read PunisherMAX for so long, I didn't think I could enjoy a Punisher run that is not set in the MAX universe (you know, with cussing, insane violence, nudity, etc). Well Rucka proved me wrong... his noir style suits Frank Castle to a tee, and although I liked Jason Aarons Max run better, this did not dissapoint me. Issue #13 was one of the coolest issues I have ever read. In.My.Life.PERIOD. (seriously, an auction for villains' apparel like one of Doc Ocks arms to Dr. Dooms', etc held on a boat in the middle of the ocean by some of the most ruthless men in the world was sooo freaken cool).

- Amazing Spider-man is stopping at issue #700. Same creative team will restart with issue #1 of Spectacular Spider-man in January. They've made changes to the costume (a freaken retractable toe claw! *palm on face)... AND have hinted it might not be PETER PARKER! If they *******ize Spidey like this I'm done! "One More Day" had me close to hanging them up, no Peter Parker would be the nail in the coffin.

I think you mean "Superior Spider Man". Honestly, Dan Slott's earned some slack. I'd like to see what he has in mind before I castigate him for it. Don't get me wrong, I think Parker = Spider Man indelibly, but I'm not prepared to dismiss a new direction sight unseen.

Right. Superior.

Oh I agree. I'll wait until I actually read the first storyarc before deciding to shelf it but if it's not Peter, Dan Slotts going to have to do something utterly spectacular for me to continue. Here's some of his comments discussing the reaction from fans- which I have seen on the boards myself:

On the lack of information regarding the recently announced "Superior Spider-Man:" The information we have given, the little gleams, have been just enough to piss off everyone. It's great, just this whole miasma of comments in the last, like, 48 hours on my twitter feed is just great. You could take a giant pie chart, there's like a sliver of people of, "'Superior's' gonna be awesome, I can't wait, I love everything you do!" And then there's this sliver of, "I'm leaving Spider-Man! I'm never reading the book again! You suck" Bleep you, Bleep this!" And then there's this really large slice of, "What are you doing?!? Oh no, no it's ending, why? Why? No!" And then an equally large slice of, "I'm very confused -- but I trust you?" … But that's great. If they werent talking I'd be very scared.

Go have a look at Slott's Twitter feed. It's a relentless torrent of abuse for something that hasn't even seen the light of day.

I honestly cannot see Spiderman NOT being Parker.....especially after Marvel just rebooted the Movie series in the fashion they did.....

Love your banner of First Appearance Comic books......amazing.

I had to chuckle over the weekend - my stepson has started pulling out my old Wizard magazines as he delves more into comic books. I happened across one from 1993 and was reading an article about "The Crisis on Infinite Earths" - why it was necessary for DC, what happened in it, who was affected character wise, etc.

So in the article is a quote from George Perez, which basically says "When we relaunched all of the books we should have started them all off with No.1 issues, because everyone will buy a #1 issue." This was a bit of commentary on all of the No. 1 issues coming out at the time from Image, Malibu, Valiant and Marvel, but it still struck me as a little funny how, almost 20 years later, it was still valid.
