The "other site"

Hey folks,

I have seen a lot of people refer to the "other site." But there are lots of sites similar to this one, and I have no idea which one the moniker the other site" is referring to.

Is it the one that also publishes a price guide?

They are talking about www.beckett.com and yes it has a price guide.

Nah, it's more like a running gag. Beckett gets its nose in a twist over other sites (for reasons that are perfectly valid TO THEM...but the rest of us may not agree) so we will often refer to "the other site" in a post at Beckett. The terminology sorta carried over here in reference to Beckett.

Beckett is a strange place. Probably the most active card site there is, also the most hostile. People get away with murder there, and then people get banned for nothing as well. Not my favorite place at all. That's all I have to say about that.

Well, there are definitely positives. Faster responses, maybe more trade offers. But in the end, I prefer the friendlier environment.

I like your analogy Steve. I think it's what most of us think, but weren't able to put into words.

Although you have to admit the Baseball boards "over there" especially is like watching a fiery trainwreck. Entertaining to me, but a total disaster for others. I love watching as 400 lb unwashed "Comic Book Guys" (a la The Simpsons) threaten and tough guy everyone into being afraid. I'm glad none of that crap goes down here, but if you clowns don't send me some free cards, I'm gonna TYPE IN CAPS. Great analogy Steve ... must admit that I can't even REMEMBER the last time I made a trade over on Beckett... and I don't even deal too much in the "high end" stuff that the rip-off artists over there tend to go for first...

The part I enjoy is that some members are mods on here and there. I won't mention who but it starts with the letter Q. Yes they do a great job having to deal with the differnent rules between the boards. No I am not ****ing up!!!!
