"The Walking Dead" trailer

What is everyone's oppinion of the show thus far? I for one am enjoying it alot. I am not lookig forward to having to wait a year till season 2:|.

As far as zombie fiction goes, it's entertaining enough. Zombieage in general doesn't appeal to me.

its been very good so far. i can't wait for tomorrow's episode. I think i may have to pick up some of the novels to read in between seasons.

I've felt a mixed bag with the show so far. Probably because I absolutely adore the comics, so I feel as though I am sitting there eagerly awaiting things to happen. And sometimes they do. But sometimes, they don't. Or they do but they change things.

The first episode followed the comics almost to a tee. Very small, subtle changes. The second episode was quite different from the books but had enough semblence to keep me okay with the going ons. I realize some of it needs to be adapted for TV so I was comfortable with some of the straying off from the source material (i.e. the dude on the roof, meeting Andrea and some of the gang in ATL instead of meeting just Glenn). I know they need some character development also.

But the 3rd episode sort of ticked me off. It was different. Very different from the comics. In fact, I'd say the only thing that was consistent was: some of the characters (Shane after Ricks wife), finding a zombie near the base, and having to go back into Atlanta. Thats about it. Hell even the entire reason for going back into Atlanta changed!

Anyways, I am probably nitpicking but I feel as though it has began to differ signficantly form the books that I find myself almost getting irritated when it doesnt happen the way it 'is supposed to happen'. Still very enjoyable, but dammmmmnnn the comics destroy the tv telling of the story. The experience is different and far more fast paces in the books that I strongly encourage you to read them if you like the TV show.

i just finished reading all the comics even the latest issue #79, and i've noticed that each episode gets more and more offbase...like you said the first episode was almost spot on...but since, and especially with episode #5, its been like a whole different tv that just uses the same title and some of the same names...its kind of sad

The problems with a TV show following a comic book closely are numerous. The pacing is different, the core and swirling storylines may work in print, but not on TV, you never know if a show is going to get cancelled, so you don't want to leave plotlines dangling, etc.

From what I've seen, I've enjoyed it, but I've never seen the comic book, so this is just from a TV watcher point of view.

Not having read any of the graphic novels. I've got no pre-determined expectations on how and what it should un fold.

So with that in mind, I've been pretty well entertained thus far! Here's to the season finale (?) on the 4th of Dec. Plus a season two!

I just can't wait for it to be released on Bluray so I can finally watch it. No more Limewire = no more streaming thru the PS3 :(

not sure if it works for PS3, but i use TVersity to stream through my 360...its a free download
