Hi,

i am thinking about trying a new set. It should be something special.
So i would like to try the 1910-11 C56 set.

Here are some questions.

1st. Are all the 36 cards available on the market. Or are there some sp cards.

2nd. What condition should it minimum be? PSA 2,3,4?

3th. Are here any guys who also collect this set or have a complete one?

4th. What about the values of graded cards. My print beckett only gives advise for cards from 1933 to now.

i would be thankfull for any help.

I have a set. For your viewing pleasure.:D

I didn't put this together myself. The person I acquired it from took over 15 years to complete. I hope to upgrade numbers 19, 22, 33 eventually.

I plan to get the set graded by PSA and hope for an average grade of 4.5.

Thanks for the link.
I think some of them are in great condition.

I got my first 8 cards in 2 weeks but most of them will be between 1-3 PSA graded.

I first want to put the set together and then i am searching for upgrades.

Is you have some twice please let me know.

That's a great set... I have about five of them, including the Art Ross #8, already graded. Don't recall the grades though.

One of my goals (talk about a HUGE goal) is to have a complete set of all cards from C56 through to 1988/89 OPC. Anyone got $1M or so lying around? LOL

And Bruce your not far off!!!!

My Buddy is huge into the pre war stuff and the money he spends on this stuff is not even believable.

Jermey...any chance you purchased that set from the east coast?

Maybe we should put our collections together.
I am also collecting 06/07 Letter Marks (have about 30).

My newest additions:

Art Ross 8
Lester Patrick (both are on the way)

If you want to sell your C56 plmk. :)

That is a pretty cool looking set. I just want one.

Congrats

c56 doesnt have any short prints as far as I can recall, but it can be a real hunt for some of the cards - especially if another collector needs the same card for their set.

As for condition - anything above a PSA 4 will cost you. lots. I don;t remember the old Big Book price for the set but it's lots. One good thing about the set - no Georges Vezina rookie to chase!
