Ok, this has always bothered me. When someone is selling cards only, and someone asks how much, and the person replys with links to completed auctions on ebay.

First off, If your selling a card and you want ebay values.....PUT IT ON EBAY!!!!! If your selling on the boards, cut a member a break or something, you still have to pay fees on ebay if you list it!

Secondly, Ebay isnt the only thing that determines value, in fact its a good way to determine non-priced cards, but cards sell different EVERY time, different bidders, different sellers, different condition, so going die-hard by ebay sales is not always the best way to go.

Also, A card sold on ebay may have been shilled, may have been a card one person needed for a set and was willing to pay a ton for, doesnt mean that the card would consistantly sell that well.

So if your selling cards and and your in love with ebays completed auctions, cut a person a break if your selling on the boards, otherwise take your cards straight to ebay, the unknown *real* sale value of your card will be determined for you, if your scared put a reserve or satisfying starting bid.

Trading is one thing to go by ebay values because not all cards are worth what Beckett says they are, but if your selling, Ebay isnt the flawless master source of value!

Thats fine, im just against people going exact sale value from ebay into forums

I strongly agree, very strongly agree. Sellers friends can jack up the prices for the seller, to make the seller happy. This pretty much means, if we had trusted buyers, the price would be alot lower than what you guys are using as a guideline. Also guys who collect players will be willing to pay ALOT more than anyone else, so they will just keep piling on outrageous prices to win it. (I have done this A-LOT!) Which means level-headed buyers wont be trading/buying/selling that much. I would rather stick simply to BV's, even though STILL I HATE BV'S. I feel more secure with the beckett values. Would love to see more comments to get opinions, great topic paul!
